ISO 23826:2021 Gas cylinders – Ball valves – Specification and testing is the latest benchmark for ball valves for gas or liquid Hydrogen use in transportation.
As of its publishing, ISO 23826:2021 sets the technical, operational, and testing requirements for TPED (Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive) certification required for Hydrogen transportation equipment.
The new ISO 23826 evaluates ball valve performance in terms of safety, constructing materials, testing and marking.
Ball valves adequately performing under the ISO 23826:2021 tests may be evaluated to be labeled with the ‘π’ symbol (TPED) and can be expected to endure performances in transporting Hydrogen conditions.
